Reish the Rabbi

After a delicious meal and a good nights sleep the Alef-Bet family were eager to go to the Kibbutz Synogauge for the Shabbat morning service. Reish the Rabbi welcomed everybody and began by reminding the people that it was Rosh Chodesh, the first day of the new Jewish Month. G-d commanded the Jewish people to establish their calendar according to the phases of the moon. On Rosh Chodesh the moon is reborn. The moon then gets bigger and bigger until the fifteenth of the month when the moon is at its fullest. From that point on the moon gets smaller and smaller.
